after listening to Mr. Stevens talk on the phone for 4 hours and listening to Mrs. Stevens sing her little heart out for 6 hours... we made it!
Thankfully my seester picked me up in perfect timing.
next morning? just guess what we did....
THE TEMPLE duurrrrr... i told you i'm a predictable mormon.
the sis and I did a lovely session. and i can't forget to mention... i got sick during the session [surprised?] which included me holding everyone up and me running to the bathroom with an old lady banging on my door to hurry up. how dare she rush me.
i know it probs seems that i am always running toward the bathroom but just so you know
i'm still not preggo :)
we got back to the babes and got them ready for the day.
it was SO FUN to play with them without the GRANDMA. you know how that is...
grandkids CLINGING onto grandmas shirt and crying if someone DARES to take them away.
soooo... i got all the attention! and i even was given every opportunity to change every MONSTER DIAPER without having to fight over it! it was blissssssssssince i was there helping the babes, goldie (the sis) was able to make a DELISH dinner full of mangos, black beans, brown rice, red pepper, chicken and more! it was delightful.
the next morning we took up the challenge to go to the beach & thankfully i remembered my bathing suit this time.
due to my golden dark smokey skin, i'm pretty sure peeps thought i was goldie's mexican nanny holding her white children as they fight me wanting to walk.
but i didn't care. i will embrace my golden skin like a diva. i just hope my asian babes will be dark like me so peeps won't think i'm their mexican nanny too. embarrassing.
our beach trip consisted of isaac clinging onto his bright yellow truck,
leena picking seashells for uncle long,
eating mango salsa,
and isaac attempting to lay out just like his auntie.
i must say, goldie is a trooper. she always went down to the water with the kids when they asked. she always sacrifices her relaxing time for these babes. and that is a great example for mommies.
that night my mom came to pick me up and guess what we did!
THE TEMPLE! durrrr.. you guys better be catching on.
during this temple session i did NOT get sick however, i did make a fool out of myself.
there was this cute brown lady that looked just like this other lady i knew. i wondered why my mom didn't say hi. i figured old lady drama. so i went in and noticed she was looking RIGHT at me so i KNEW i knew her! i ran up gave her a hug smiled asked her how she was gave her more love and sat down. my mom came in right after and straight up IGNORED her. old lady drama.
so i asked "yo momma.. what up with you and ____"
mom: ??? whaaa???
me: isn't that you know who...
mom: no? unless she cut her hair?
soon after the brown lady walks over to her husband
mom: that is DEFINITELY not _____.
me: ahhhh! mom! I KISSED that woman!
mom: aww.. thats sweet of you!
so i now know that the brown lady was looking at me because i'm brown. momma avalos me and brown lady were the only brown peeps there.
us brown peeps have a secret connection. i feel it everytime.
even when i mistake them for being some other brown peep i know.
in all.. i didn't mind kissing a lady i didn't know.
red/white stripes day aka 4th of JULY we started a "new" tradition. a "new" tradition always takes place if we really really really have fun doing it once.
as a WHOLE FAMILY we went to Pharoah's Lost Kingdom. the grandparents watched the chillins while US big kids went on some slides. it was off the chhaaiiiinn!
last time i had been there i had no two front teeth and my bangs were shaved off. i so wish i could show you that moment of my life right now.
after some sliding and getting dizzy from the lazy lagoon
we went home for some BOMB dinner. growing up with sisters, you better believe we learned how to cook from mom. everyone brought their perfected summer dish.
we then headed to the university of redlands stadium for some fireworks [first time i had ever done it before after living there for 17 yrs of my life]
my mom, being the stubborn lady that she is wanted to WALK to the stadium.
i pleaded my pops to drive me.
& we did :)
it was even fun showing off our sisterly blingggg to each other. OBVIOUSLY serene's blew ours out of the water. rich fiance.
the babes LOVED it. babes always enjoy the small things. and that's what's so lovely about kids. they take life day by day and make the most of it.
i love my cute babes. and can't wait to have my own asian babes and be a great mom just like my momma and goldie.
in all, the weekend was BOMB.jpg
& was happy to be home with him again!
i knew you had a great time, still wished you were with me tho haha..
