everyone else is doing it!

it's pretty much expected to start blogging once you're married because peeps wanna follow you to see how great you and your lover are doing. i think its a fab idea actually because not only do my fellow peeps see how much fun the nguyens are having i'm also writing in my journal! and it can never get destroyed by waves, sand/dirt, wind, or messy handwriting. so to begin i will introduce to you my lil fam bam consisting of Lillie Paula (Avalos) and Long Bao Pham Nguyen. It all started when little miss Lillie decided to transfer to BYU fromBYU Hawaii. i met people from all around the world. i learned how to be humble and turn to the lord when i was lonely. i grew up physically and spiritually. the memories i made will definitely stay in my heart forever. but i knew hawaii just wasn't the thing for me any longer. so i packed up my things after going to school year round for 14 months and headed to BYU provo, utah where all the parrtayyyss were at.

i was a math major so i was signed up to take a Differential Equations class with Dr Fisher and his TA Long Bao Pham Nguyen. i went to our first discussion section with mister Long and right away he memorized my name. why?? well.. 1)being in the math major you are guaranteed to be one out of 4 girls 2) i'm brown :) 3) i'm hawt duhh.. and soo first day my name was stuck in his little math brain.

one day i was working on some Linear Algebra and he skipped right up to me (and me totally forgetting his name) said OHHH heyyyy!!!!!!!!!!! (hoping he didn't expect me to say his name) he sat down and said I know how to do this stuff! if you wanna.. come to my office hours and i can help you out. so that is how it began. within one week of being at BYU i met my future husband. the 1 of 6 Vietnamese men there haha.

and so.. i visited him everyday getting help from my diff eq TA for linear algebra help! i always remembered thinking to myself... hmm... when i grow up im gonna make a lot of money and send him a big check for all the help he gave me in college. GOOD THING I GET TO KEEP IT!! :)

anywhoo... after the semester was over i th
ought for sure he was Loooonnngg gone but he's a trickster. he asked if we could meet for lunch to discuss about me getting some more help. now lets be honest.. who would say no to such a great offer as this? FREE TUTORING. yes sir! i was kinda freaking out about the whole lunch thing but since i wasn't sure if this was a REAL DATE i brought my own lunch from home and a roomie. just so i wasn't sending the wrong message.

he was so nice to me. he would buy me a cookie after a test. go to SLC and buy me some BOMB viet food. he would meet me on campus on weekends for study sessions FREE OF CHARGE.

we became great friends. even facebook friends!
i loved the guy but not lovie dovie love.

one day a friday to be exact Longie me and some friends got some dinner. the girls decided to get some ice cream and throughout conversation we decided we should do a triple date. i crossed the street, plopped down to Long and asked him out (a friendly date of course).

yup. his jaw dropped. "supposedly" he'd been wanting to ask me out for some time! and of course i beat him to it just like i did with our first kiss ;) first date: ate at thai ruby in provo, he walked me home and i made sure i told him i was NOT looking for marriage and was preparing to go on a mission the following year. I pretty much decided i was not going to be in a relationship. however, after a lot of debating and persuading from my mother, i decided, i'd give him a chance.

after a haircut, 3 more dates, and a luau it was official.
and so we made it a year of dating and got married in the Boston Temple April 30th 2011.

and here our story begins!
